The CONCACAF Gold Cup is officially under way as USMNT stunned Canada on Sunday night.

It was a close contest, but team USA found a way to win in a thrilling penalty kick shootout.

However, the loss seemed to really upset Canada, as they got into it with USMNT after the game in the tunnels.

It’s not clear what was said to start the altercation, but it led to security having to step in and separate the two teams. Watch the clip below!

There doesn’t seem to be any punches thrown, but it was enough of an altercation for security to get involved.

And it makes sense why Canada is upset. They’ve been the better team in the past and they lost a nail biter all because USA’s Matt Turner went beast mode during the penalty shootout to decide the game.

Honestly, this is exactly what team USA needs to continue building popularity. Americans loves a good tunnel altercation and this could bring more eyes to the USMNT.

Especially considering how much soccer has grown in America the last several years. I mean, Lionel Messi is going to play for Inter Miami in the MLS.

On top of that, team USA has plenty of young talent that could become a legitimate threat in the next few years as they reach their full potential.

USMNT beating Canada and then getting into a “gripple grapple” with them in the tunnel does nothing but generate excitement for Americans getting into soccer.

With that said, more people may be willing to tune into USA’s next Gold Cup match as they take on Panama on Wednesday July 12.

Meanwhile the women’s team is preparing for the Women’s World Cup later in July as well.

With that said, soccer might just be on the verge of becoming a major sport in the US.
