USMNT Fans React To Superstar Forward Folarin Balogun Choosing The US Over England

The United States undoubtedly has more soccer talent at its disposal than it ever has before.

Players like Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna and Tyler Adams are legitimate match winners, the likes of which the US Men’s National Team has rarely seen before.

The influx of talent comes at a pivotal time, too, as the US is set to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Mexico and Canada.

However, there’s always been one major problem. The US lacks a goal-scorer.

For all its improvements in the last decade or so, the USA has, for some reason, always struggled to find a top-level striker.

There was the Juan Agudelo years. And that time everyone got really invested in Bobby Wood. Jozy Altidore was probably the most reliable option of the last decade.

But for all the talent that the US had its disposal, it just could not find a reliable No. 9 to put the ball in the back of the nets.

Fear no more, American soccer fans. For our goal-scorer has arrived.

21-year-old rising star striker Folarin Balogun sent shock waves through the soccer world on Tuesday morning when he announced his intention to play for the USMNT.

And fans couldn’t contain their excitement.

Balogun was born in Brooklyn to Nigerian parents and grew up in London. That made him eligible to play for all three countries.

The uber-talented youngster joined the Arsenal academy in 2008 and rose up through the ranks. He joined French Ligue 1 side Reims on loan from Arsenal for the 2022-23 season. In his first full professional season, Balogun has been outstanding. He’s score 19 goals in 34 league matches for Reims, putting him fifth in Ligue 1 in goals scored above Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Balogun is everything the USMNT has needed. He can score in transition. He can poach goals and help in build up play, he’s a competent dribbler.

With Balogun in attack next names like Pulisic, Reyna and Weah, the USMNT is finally a threat to be reckoned with.
