QB Brodie Scheinberg is transferring high schools.
Brodie Scheinberg will no longer be the starting quarterback at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. The high school football star is reportedly transferring after losing his job.
It remains to be seen when he’ll be eligible for his next team.
Los Angeles Times reporter Eric Sondheimer announced the decision on Wednesday. Scheinberg will transfer to Newbury Park in his home state of California.

High school football player bails after losing starting role.
The Standard-Examiner reported further on the decision this week. Scheinberg started under center for Davis’s first three games of the year. He was benched ahead of Game 4.
Davis named senior Paden Toula its Week 4 starter on Saturday and, by Monday, Scheinberg, the presumed backup, decided to leave Utah just three weeks into the regular season, the team said.
Scheinberg completed 60% of his attempts in those three contests, tossing six touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. He threw for 570 yards but had a poor showing in his latest outing.
The passer connected on 19-of-33 attempts for 166 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Darts lost 42-7.
Davis went 1-2 under Scheinberg’s guidance. The team was outscored 93-21 in those setbacks.
Despite the recent struggles, the quarterback is a legitimate D1 prospect. He boasts three-star status at 247 Sports, with offers from Minnesota, Purdue, Oregon State, Syracuse, and SMU.
At 6-5, and nearly 200 pounds, he already possesses ideal size for college coaches.
Still, the Davis staff opted for a change ahead of a matchup vs. Alta. As a result, most assumed the transfer was in response to the demotion. Scheinberg’s mom, Cara, insists there was another motive.

I do not know Brodie Scheinberg’s father’s profession. Cara Scheinberg says her husband was transferred back to the Los Angeles area. The family must move. It’s as simple as that!
That social media reply was not the only thing she had to say about the exit. She also appeared to shade her son’s former coaching staff by reposting a message on X.

Maybe it’s something. Maybe it’s nothing. One can certainly read into it as being a subtle jab at the previous regime.
Regardless, Cara Scheinberg believes her son is landing in a good spot. She suggests the transfer had nothing to do with Brodie Scheinberg’s benching.
It was a family matter. We’ll see how quickly he can begin the eligibility process.
