Every sports site on the Internet is talking about the Yeezy cleats that DeAndre Hopkins and Adrian Peterson are wearing for their respective NFL season openers on Sunday. But the New York Giants just won the Week 1 cleat game by announcing special 9/11 tribute footwear for Victor Cruz and Odell Beckham.
Cruz’s pre-game cleat is a nod to New York’s bravest, FDNY. Both will be swagged out with the most patriotic cleats I’ve ever witnessed for the game itself.
Since Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of 9/11, George W. Bush will be on-hand in Arlington, Texas for the coin toss alongside his wife and two NYPD officers who responded to the attacks on the World Trade Center. There will also be pre-recorded messages from President Barack Obama and President Bush before the 1PM and 4:30PM games on Sunday.
