The Victor Wembanyama era of dominance looks poised to start next year after he had a great rookie season for the San Antonio Spurs. The 7-foot-4 Frenchman established himself as one of the NBA’s best players at just 20-years-old down the stretch.

Recently, Wembanyama’s logo, aptly shaped like an alien, was released by Nike as we await his first shoe release on May 14. On Sunday, a new commercial featuring the logo was released by Nike. Take a look.

Yeah, those stats featured in the video are ridiculous. We’ve never seen a player like Victor Wembanyama, let alone a rookie like him.

During his first season, he averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and a league-leading 3.6 blocks per game. Yes, the Spurs were terrible, but they were far better when Victor Wembanyama was on the floor. In fact, per 100 possessions, the Spurs were 7 points better with him on the floor.

Victor Wembanayama’s long-term contract with Nike is reportedly worth over $100 million, and here is his first signature shoe.

Don’t worry basketball fans. You won’t have to wait until next NBA season to see Victor Wembanyama back in action. He will be playing in the 2024 Summer Olympics in his native France, as Paris will be going nuts for his games. France is definitely a medal threat.

In the meantime, the San Antonio Spurs are going to be looking to upgrade their roster significantly this offseason. It was pretty clear at the end of the season that Wembanyama could be the best player on a championship team sooner rather than later. Between draft picks and cap space, the Spurs definitely have the ammo to put a much better product on the floor next year.
