NBA fan think San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama “put a hit out” on Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jared McCain in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. Video shows Wemby whispering something to Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee as they checked into the game before the pair went on to commit hard fouls on McCain.

A video going viral out of Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder shows Victor Wembanyama approaching veteran bench players Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee late in the fourth quarter, leaning in, and whispering something to both of them just before they check into the game.

After the pair checked into the game to close out the loss, Plumlee made physical contact that sent McCain to the floor, before Biyombo contested a play that resulted in McCain going down again. Back-to-back sequences, two veterans who just received private instructions from Wemby, and one very unlucky rookie.

“I mean could you imagine if a Thunder player did this. They literally sent 3rd stringers out there to try and injure a 3rd OKC player,” one viral tweet said.

“He put a bag on McCain’s head I’m crying wtf,” a second added.

McCain, in his first playoff start, went 7-19 from the field and posted 20 points (3-9 from three), 3 rebounds, and 2 turnovers.
