Victor Wembanyama Has 17 Points In Three Minutes In Unreal Performance

After Friday night, we only have one more game of San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama’s phenomenal rookie year. Luckily for us, he may have saved his best for the season’s final weekend.

The Spurs were aiming to play spoiler as the Denver Nuggets tried to lock down the number-one seed in the Western Conference. They did that, winning 121-120, thanks to an incredible spurt by Victor Wembanyama.

With the Spurs trailing by 21 points midway through the third quarter, the 7-mfoot-4 cyborg decided it was time to take over. He scored 17 points in three minutes in an unreal spurt! Take a look.

That’s impressive for any scorer. For a 2o-year-old center to do that is simply out of this world. He’s going to be the best player in the world sooner rather than later.

His efforts paid off, too. The Spurs capped off their huge comeback via a buzzer-beater by DeVonte Graham.

A win would’ve locked up the top seed in the Western Conference for the Denver Nuggets, and this was a game that they were trying to win.

No one is going to wax poetically about the Spurs’ 21-60 record. But, this team has absolutely improved as the year has gone on. A lot of that has to do with Victor Wembanyama. He went from someone who would have great spurts while undergoing growing pains to one of the league’s best players after the All-Star Break.

On the night, he finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. Yeah, that’s pretty good.

It’s unclear if he will play in the team’s finale against Detroit on Sunday. No matter what, I think we’re all excited to see what comes from year two of Victor Wembanyama.
