Ole Miss catcher Austin Fawley gave his mom the best gift over the weekend. He smacked a grand slam home run in her direction during a win over South Carolina on Saturday.
Jennifer Fawley not only hauled in the no-doubt homer, but she captured the awesome moment on video.
The scene played out in the final game of a three-game set between the Rebels and Gamecocks. South Carolina had already won the first two contests at home. Austin Fawley ensured his team would avoid a sweep.
In the first inning of play, he cranked a bomb over the left field fence with the bases loaded. The grand slam helped his team build a quick 6-0 lead.

Jennifer Fawley called the shot. She could be heard hinting at a home run while recording the moment on the concourse beyond the outfield wall. She also knew exactly where to stand should her prediction come true.
It did! In the initial television footage, you can see Austin Fawley’s mom tracking down the grand slam with phone in hand. She later posted her POV clip to social media, which quickly went viral.

Austin Fawley hails from West Palm Beach where he was a Top 300 recruit. His mom made the trip up to South Carolina from Florida to watch the series against the Gamecocks. Her son did not disappoint!
Not only did Jennifer Fawley haul in that grand slam shot, but she also got to witness her son leave the ballpark in Game 1 of the set. The catcher went 3-for-9 at the dish with five RBIs and those two dingers over the course of the weekend.
