Youth baseball player hits home run after calling shot.
A youth baseball player in the state of Florida provided his best Babe Ruth impression in a now-viral video circulating social media by calling his shot before drilling a home run. The blast was captured on camera by the catcher.
The reaction to the feat is heartwarming. It’s a moment that will not soon be forgotten by players on either side.
We’ve all heard the story of the Great Bambino predicting his moonshot in Game 3 of the 1932 World Series. As legend has it, Ruth pointed two fingers towards centerfield before stepping in the box. He belted the next pitch out of Wrigley Field.
That scene was replayed at a youth baseball game involving as team from the Sunshine State. The response was equally as impressive.
Youth baseball player calls shot.
I am not exactly sure where this incredible feat took place. Based on account information from the original poster (@DirtyRed317), it appears the batter hails from somewhere in Florida. Maybe Tampa.
The video was reposted by MaxPreps and has since gone viral.
The catcher caught the moment on camera with Meta glasses. In the clip, you can hear the hitter ask, “Are you filming?”
When the backstop responds, “Yes,” he says, “Watch me hit this home run.” The rest is history.

The batter swiftly deposited a bomb over the left field wall. As he rounded third base, you can hear him say, “I told you!”
The catcher was just as pumped. He couldn’t control his excitement. “I can’t believe he called it!” he exclaimed. He further shared his thoughts on the moment via TikTok, saying he found a new friend after the game.
This video has been going viral and I’m the one who was catching and recorded this moment. I had no idea recording this kid like this would go so far that even CBS Sports, MaxPreps, and even ESPN would get involved. I’m so happy for him, and this made me a new friend. This was a moment I will never forget.
The home run was great. The reaction was even better. This is, hands down, the best thing on the internet this week.
