Jon Jones will not be fighting Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 in the next three weeks.

On late Tuesday night, UFC CEO Dana White revealed that Jones had suffered a torn pec in practice and would need surgery, which would force him to be sidelined for eight months.

A video of Jones’ injury was released online.

Heavyweights Tom Aspinall and Sergei Pavlovich will now fight for the interim UFC heavyweight title, while Jiří Procházka vs Alex Pereira has been dubbed the new main event for UFC 295.

According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, the UFC is hoping to have the Miocic-Jones fight take place sometime next year.

Miocic will no longer compete on the card with the loss of the high-profile fight against Jones. It was billed as Jones, the best fighter in MMA history, against Miocic, the most successful heavyweight ever in the UFC.

Sources said the hope is to still rebook Jones vs. Miocic for a big card in 2024.
