The Minnesota Vikings managed to snatch a 31-28 victory over the Falcons on Sunday.

What made it even more wild was the fact that their backup quarterback, Josh Dobbs, had to step in for most of the game. Dobbs, fresh from a trade a few days ago with the Cardinals, managed to hold his own and lead the team to victory.

After the game however, Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell had some unfortunate news about running back Cam Akers, who suffered another Achilles injury.

Akers had missed the entire 2021 season due to a torn Achilles, and now he suffered another Achilles injury.

For the 24-year-old Akers, it’s a tough break. He had some promising moments in the Minnesota backfield. With him sidelined, Alexander Mattison might be getting a lot more action, both in the carries and the passing game.

Akers had only been with the Vikings for a few weeks after a trade from the Rams. He managed 138 yards and a touchdown on 38 carries this season, including 38 total yards against the Falcons today.

Hopefully it turns out to not be as bad as the team currently believes.
