The Minnesota Vikings are gearing up to start quarterback Josh Dobbs this week when they face the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.

Dobbs pulled off a remarkable performance on Sunday, beating the Falcons 31-28, after rookie QB Jaren Hall suffered a concussion in the first quarter.

Regardless of Hall’s injury status, it seems like a no-brainer to go with Dobbs given everything he just did to beat Atlanta just five days after being traded from the Cardinals.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell officially confirmed Dobbs as the starter in a Monday press conference.

When Dobbs entered the game on Sunday, he hardly knew his teammates’ full names, hadn’t practiced with the team, and hadn’t even thrown a single pass in practice to any receiver, or taken snaps from starting Center Garrett Bradbury.

Despite his unfamiliarity with the team, Dobbs managed to complete 20 of 30 passes for 158 yards and rushed seven times for 66 yards, scoring three total touchdowns, including the game-winner with just 22 seconds remaining.

Dobbs’ teammates lifted him up in the locker room after the game – and he’s now the official starter. What a story.
