Vintage ‘NBA On NBC’ Intro For This Year’s NBA Finals Will Bring Back Memories Of The Good Ol’ Days

If you’re a child of the ’90s like I was, there were a few things that always seemed to stick in your head.

  1. The lyrics to any Hootie & the Blowfish song
  2. Kelly Kapowski’s hotness
  3. The beat of “Roundball Rock,” the NBA on NBC intro that was played by John Tesh

And while the NBA on NBC no longer exists—pour one out—one hoops fans wanted to bring back the retro feel of the dramatic opening with Bob Costas’ voice for this year’s NBA Finals.

Costas’ serious demeanor was always so over-exaggerated when I was a kid, but, dammit, I miss the hell out of his hoops commentary these days.

Does this get anyone else even more stoked for Game 7 on Sunday, or is it just me?
