The Virginia Tech baseball team is going viral Sunday morning ahead of their Super Regional matchup versus the Oklahoma Sooners.

Through the first two contests, each team has taken home a win leaving Sunday as the rubber match to decide which team will move on to the College World Series.

But it appears that one team might’ve counted their chickens before they hatched.

A photo of a Virginia Tech baseball hat is circulating around social media. The caps show the block VT on the side with a nice big Omaha-bound logo printed across the front.

College baseball writer Kendall Rogers found the hats for sale, setting quite the reaction into motion.

The Hokies were one of college baseball’s top teams this season, winning 45 games and landing the No. 4 overall national seed in the NCAA Tournament.

While Omaha has been the goal from day one, the program is now getting roasted for celebrating a little too early.

The hilarious reaction is quite entertaining to follow on social media. It will be particularly juicy should the Hokies lose Game 3 to fall one win shy of Omaha.

Virginia Tech won Saturday’s game 14-8 after dropping Game 1, 5-4. We’ll see how this works out in the series finale as the program tries to notch its first ever College World Series appearance.
