NFL Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp is joining the coaching staff of the Colorado Buffaloes in 2024, he announced during an interview on the Rich Eisen Show.

Deion Sanders, who is in his first year as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes football team, has already made quite an impact with a perfect 3-0 start to the season, securing victories against TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State.

With this impressive start, Sanders has captured the attention of the sports world, and the addition of Warren Sapp to his coaching staff is set to further elevate the team.

Sapp expressed his eagerness to contribute to the Buffaloes, saying, “I’m going to get everything, get the paperwork, and I’m gonna go to work.”

He also highlighted the potential of the team, particularly quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and the defensive line coached by Sapp, to make a significant impact.

Sapp’s arrival will add to the growing list of former NFL players on Sanders’ coaching staff, including Dennis Thurman, Kevin Mathis, and Trevor Reilly.

Warren Sapp’s illustrious career in the NFL led to his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2013, during his first year of eligibility.

Over his career, Sapp achieved a remarkable six All-Pro selections, seven Pro Bowl selection, won a Super Bowl championship, and earned a place in the Buccaneers’ Ring of Honor, with his number 99 jersey retired.

Sapp’s impressive statistics includes 96.5 career sacks in 198 games.
