New York Knicks fans added insult to injury on Wednesday night, as someone threw an egg at Victor Wembanyama as the San Antonio Spurs were entering their hotel. The Spurs blew a 29-point lead to lose Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Following the Knicks’ Game 4 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, a fan outside the Spurs’ Manhattan hotel pelted Victor Wembanyama in the head with an egg.

The Knicks overcoming a 29-point deficit represented the largest comeback in NBA Finals history.
In the loss, Wemby had 24 points (9-25 from the field), 13 rebounds, three blocks and one assist.
The Knicks were led by Jalen Brunson, who posted 36 points, seven assists and five rebounds, and OJ Anunoby who had 33 points and the game-winning put-back with just a second remaining in the game.
New York will now take a commanding 3-1 series lead to San Antonio for Game 5, which will tip off from the Frost Bank Center on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. EST.
If the Spurs are going to come back to win the series, they’re going to have to channel the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers, who are the only team that has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals.
A storyline worth watching is that Wemby now has three flagrant fouls during the postseason, meaning he’s one more flagrant away from a suspension. A flagrant in Game 5 would lead to Wemby being suspended for Game 6, and if there is a Game 7, a flagrant foul in Game 6 would also result in a suspension.
The Spurs have opened as 5.5-point favorites in the win-or-go-home Game 5 against the Knicks.
