Willie McGinest Slapped With 2 Felony Charges For LA Restaurant Brawl

Willie McGinest has been in hot water since December for his involvement in a Los Angeles restaurant brawl.

Many have been waiting to see how it would play out and we finally have an update.

According to TMZ, the New England Patriots legend “has just been charged with two felonies.”

The video footage released back in December was wild, as Willie McGinest and a friend of his basically jumped a guy at a restaurant in Los Angeles.

TMZ details the exact charges that are being filed against McGinest.

“The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the charges this week hitting the New England Patriots legend with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury.”

Furthermore, “each charge carries up to four years in prison.”

So, Willie McGinest is facing some serious time behind bars. TMZ also reports that “McGinest’s arraignment in the case has been set for April.”

Since then, the former Patriots great issued an apology for his actions, per TMZ.

“To my family, community, friends, and youth I mentor. Please know I feel horrible for my actions and take full responsibility.”

We’ll see what comes of it in April. In the meantime, Willi McGinest will remain suspended from his role at the NFL Network.
