The Big 10 title was on the line last night in Madison, Wisconsin and the game did not disappoint. Purdue and Wisconsin battled it out in a closely contested game from start to finish and the game was decided by a wild ending.
With 15 seconds left in the game, Wisconsin led by 3 and had Brad Davison heading to the line for a 1 and 1. Davison missed the free throw and Purdue grabbed the rebound. Jaden Ivey took the ball down the court and immediately pulled up for a 3 at the top of the key with about 9 seconds left to tie it.
After the bucket, Wisconsin’s Chucky Hepburn took the ball down the floor and answered with 1.5 seconds left. He banked in a 3 over a Purdue defender to give his team the 3 point lead. Ourude wouldn’t even get a shot off to try and tie it, with their ensuing inbound pass being intercepted. The bank 3 ensured Wisconsin would win at least a share of the Big 10 title.

Wisconsin’s star player and national player of the year contender, Johnny Davis, had a hilarious response to the game-winning bucket.

Luckily for Wisconsin, only the second part of that quote matters when it comes to their resume. Wisconsin will now find themselves solidly in the conversation for a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament if they can follow up their regular season title with a Big 10 tournament title.
It has been quite a ride for a Wisconsin team that wasn’t even ranked until the end of November.
