This Is Being Called The ‘Most Ridiculous Hand’ Of The World Series Of Poker Main Event For Good Reason

The 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event played down to 149 remaining players on Day 5 of the tournament.

Each player busted when play resumes on Day 6 are guaranteed at least $67,700. We have a full rundown of the 2023 Main Event payouts (and controversies) published to track earnings.

During the early rounds of play on Day 5, a 3-way hand unfolded that PokerGo called “the most ridiculous hand you will see this World Series Of Poker” and added that “it’s not even close.” I’m inclined to agree.

The video is also available on PokerGo‘s Twitter.

Let’s recap what happened here for a moment. Bill Klein looked down to find KK and raised 55,000. Stuart Taylor woke up to his left with AA and smooth called, likely hoping to trap Bill. Nicholas ‘Dirty Diaper’ Rigby called with 9d7c because the pot was getting massive. Then Ryan Brown finds AdQc and shoved all-in with 225,000 chips already in the pot.

For context, Bill Klein is a legend in the poker world. He is primarily a high-stakes cash game player but has $3,762,826 in World Series of Poker earnings (16 cashes).

Klein is a very, eery good player. That, however, didn’t seem to stop anyone from shoving over his 55K raise.

So Ryan Brown shoves all-in with AQ. Bill Klein goes all-in with KK. And Stuart Taylor is STILL waiting to act with AA in his hand!

Naturally, the AQ won after completely missing the 8h3cKd flop. He ran out with a Js and 10h turn/river to make his straight.

Bill Klein survived with just 385K chips, or just over 15 big blinds. He had his legs knocked out from underneath him after that pot and Klein would eventually finish the night in 279th place for $50,900.

Stuart Taylor finished in 374th for $40,000. And Ryan Brown is still in the mix with 6,830,000 chips (20th in chips).

I watched this hand live on PokerGo and thought I was losing my mind:

The current Main Event chip leader is Zachary Hall with 16,310,000 chips and the short stack is Carlos Henrique Da Silva with 463,000. PokerGo will have Day 6 action today!
