WWE Star Chelsea Green Says Swanky NYC Hotel Accused Her Of Being An Escort And Kicked Her Out

WWE superstar Chelsea Green is no stranger to rocking some fairly revealing outfits in the ring, but it’s a bit hard to believe the ensemble she wore to a hotel in New York City earlier this week led to her being asked to lead by employees who were convinced she was an escort.

It’s been close to a decade since Chelsea Green made her professional wrestling debut for a small circuit in her native Canada, and she slowly but surely made her way up the ranks before taking her talents to the WWE in 2018.

She was released by the organization three years later but made her grand return at the Royal Rumble in 2023 before securing her first belt by winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Sonya Deville that summer.

Green has been making regular appearances on Monday Night Raw since rejoining the WWE, and earlier this week, she rolled into town with the rest of the stable for the show that was held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

According to TMZ, Green stuck around in New York City for another day and headed into Manhattan on Tuesday evening to meet up with a friend at The Plaza, the wildly ritzy hotel in Midtown, to grab a drink before heading to a show on Broadway.

The duo attempted to get cocktails at the Champagne Bar but were initially rebuffed after being informed it was reserved for guests. A patron overheard the exchange and invited them to join him, but security reportedly jumped into action while asserting ” We know what you’re doing here”—with Green saying they accused her of being an escort in a tweet where she showed off the pretty inoffensive outfit she was wearing at the time.

Now, it’s not exactly a secret that ladies of the night tend to flock to bars at upscale hotels in NYC like moths to a flame in search of wealthy travelers looking for some company, so while I can kind of understand why employees at The Plaza would be on high alert, that’s still not a great look.
