South Carolina WR Xavier Legette is garnering comparisons to NFL great Randy Moss ahead of the 2024 Draft. Those parallels have little to do with his on-field abilities, though.

Instead, football fans have focused on a unique personal trait – Legette’s thick southern accent.

Now, Legette’s talents are certainly not lacking. Rated as one of the top wideouts in the coming selection process, he grades as an early second round pick.

A physical specimen who ran a 4.39 40-yard dash at 225 pounds, he’s fresh off his best college season in Columbia. As a senior with the Gamecocks, the pass catcher hauled in 71 receptions for 1,255 yards, flashing that incredible speed and athleticism on a weekly basis.

His ability to not only run by defenders, but also go up and make contested catches could lead to one a Randy Moss comparison, but that’s not what has fans making the connection.

Rather, it’s his thick, thick southern drawl.

Xavier Legette’s accent is getting attention.

Most remember Moss’s accent, no surprise coming from the West Virginia native. Here he is talking about meeting Deion Sanders, with that twang on full display.

Legette’s might be even thicker!

A native of Mullins, SC, that won’t surprise folks from the Palmetto State.

Fans outside of Gamecock Nation were gaining their exposure, though, and it resulted in a hilarious online response.

This is Legette at the Reese’s Senior Bowl where he continued to boost his NFL Draft stock.

“Ain’t no way Xavier Legette actually talks like that,” one social media user wrote.

Momentum really picked up after his NFL Combine experience, though, as he’s now gone viral.

“Is this his real voice?!”

Believe it!

Legette’s accent is helping fans get familiar with the draft prospect, and they’ll be sure to know his name when it’s called.
