Nobody Wants To See The 2020 MLB Season More Than The New York Yankees

It may sound odd that a team is considered “due” for a World Series after just winning one just 11 years ago, but for a franchise like the New York Yankees, who have done nothing but win since George Steinbrenner took over as the owner, 11 years is 11 years too long.

The Yankees have once again loaded up their roster this year and are the early favorites to win the World Series. But with the 2020 season in jeopardy and their young talent getting geared up for free agency, the time to win is now.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman has been no stranger to shelling out money when he thinks it is necessary. Just ask Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton who have reaped the benefits on $300 million, multi-year contracts. But deep pockets may not be enough to keep this superstar roster together with young players like Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, and Miguel Andujar nearing free agency. All three guys have become superstars in the league and are going to be subject to a whole lot of money coming their way come contract time whether baseball is played in 2020 or not.

There is no doubt that the pressure is on the Yankees this year and it doesn’t help that the New York media will be sure to let them know that it is. The stakes are high and I can assure you there is nobody more eager to not only start the season but to bring another trophy home than the New York Yankees.
