Yankees Newly-Acquired Superstar Juan Soto Has Unique Goal For The 2024 Season

For years, the New York Yankees have been looking for a superstar lefty slugger to take advantage of the short perch in right field at Yankee Stadium. They’ve found their man in Juan Soto, who they hope will be a lineup cornerstone for the next decade-plus.

They will have to re-sign Soto, who will be eligible for free agency. But, it’s the Yankees, and they can’t possibly let someone they traded a significant amount of prospects to walk over money, right?

And, Juan Soto is possibly a generational-type left-handed hitter. He’s going to play the entire regular season as a 25-year-old, already has 160 career home runs, and an astonishing 157 OPS+ for his career. How good is that 157 OPS+? It puts him three spots behind Stan Musial and three spots ahead of Hank Aaron. Yeah, I’d say that’s pretty good.

So, what is Juan Soto’s goal this season? An American League East Title? The first World Series appearance for the Yankees since before iPads were released? None of the above. Instead, Soto wants to hit a home run in all the ballparks he hasn’t in his career so far.

Actually, he only needs five. Here they are.

All of them are in the American League, and he’s been in the National League so far in his career with the Nationals and the Padres. It seems like that’s an attainable goal, but probably unlikely.

New York opens their season on the road against the hated Astros on March 28.
