Sunday Night Football didn’t end the way the Jets were hoping, as they fall just short against the Chiefs, 23-20.

The Jets however can at least be happy with what they saw out of quarterback Zach Wilson, who managed to steal the spotlight.

Wilson’s performance earned him some fans last night, including of LeBron James.

LeBron seemed impressed by Wilson’s play, and for taking blame for his loss. James shared words of encouragement: “Helluva game kid! You win as a team and lose as well as a team! 1 play doesn’t define the whole game! Keep ya head up high and keep pushing forward!! If it was easy, everyone would do it!”

Wilson showed his potential on SNF.

According to OptaSTATS, he stands as the only opposing quarterback to outshine Chiefs’ star Patrick Mahomes in passing yards, completions, touchdown passes, and interceptions in any of the 127 games Mahomes has played in college or the NFL, playoffs included.

For a player who’s mostly been considered draft bust as the former 2nd overall pick, Wilson’s performance not only earned him fans but also sparked hope for the Jets’ future.

If he continues to play at this level, the Jets could be looking at a promising season ahead.
