Zach Wilson doesn’t like people taking shots at his mom so much so that he offered her money to get off social media altogether.

Immediately after Wilson got drafted by the NY Jets back in April, his mom Lisa became an internet celebrity overnight which led to Zach fielding questions about her from the media.

Craig Carton: “Your mom has become the lead story, and I say that respectfully because people are like, ‘the star of the first round of the draft is Mrs. Wilson because she’s a very attractive woman.’”

“And I’m just wondering how awkward that is for you, that you just got picked second overall in the NFL draft, and the focus is, wow, his mom is really hot.”

Zach Wilson: ” Yeah, it’s not my favorite for sure. I like to keep her out of the spotlight. She’s an awesome lady and I love having her support.”

Wilson’s mom faced some backlash a few months ago when she said “Snapchat is for whores” and called Disney employees “maskholes” for enforcing their mask policy. Eventually, Lisa decided to take a small break from social media before returning again.

On Friday, Lisa admitted that Zach had told her he wanted her to get off social media and even offered her money to do so. Lisa says Zach wasn’t embarrassed by her but just didn’t like seeing people “treating her like crap.’

“People out there that think I embarrass my son. Has he asked me to take down my social media? He has before…and he says if it’s about money, mom, I’ll give you money.”

“He says, mom you don’t embarrass me but I can’t stand people treating my mom like crap.”

She went on to say that she decided to stay on social media because of the positive messages she receives from other people who feel inspired by her.
