Zion Williamson’s career has been plagued by injuries, but there’s still hope for him as he’s a total monster on the court when healthy.

The New Orleans Pelicans would certainly benefit from having Williamson available for most of the season and playoffs moving forward.

But to do that, the superstar forward has to stay healthy. With that said, it sounds like Williamson has a plan to hopefully resolve the issue.

During a guest appearance on Gilbert Arenas’ show Gil’s Arena, Zion Williamson addressed the problem and claimed he wants to follow LeBron James’ footsteps to maintain his health.

Zion Williamson was asked if it was his diet that’s the issue, or that lack of cardio. The Pelicans’ star doesn’t seem to think that’s part of the problem.

Instead, he mentions using “flexibility and band work.” Here’s Williamson’s full statement about his health.

“So the diet piece, I’m always able to come back each summer feeling good, looking good. But I would say it’s more of locking in on like, flexibility, band work, because I think it’s those things that will be able to keep me on the court longer versus just losing a bunch of weight and then coming to play and not being able to maintain it. I mean s***, ‘Bron got the blueprint. I’ll try my best to follow it, man.”

If you’re going to copy someone in the NBA it might as well be LeBron James, right? The guy has been a superstar since he first entered the league, has never had injury issues, and is playing well into his late 30s.

Zion Williamson has all of the potential in the world and would really benefit following LeBron’s footsteps.

So, if he can overcome these injury problems, Williamson could prove to be one of the league’s best superstars. This isn’t something that’s going to happen over night though. He has to put in the work and follow through.

Either way, it’s nice to hear that Zion Williamson has a plan in place. Let’s just hope it works.
