The new Stan Smith Recon model is constructed from premium leathers throughout, featuring an all-leather upper, leather tongue and soft leather lining, with precise stitching details and subtle ornamentation such as the Stan Smith branding on the tongue embossed in gold, as well as the Stan Smith signature, featured on the sockliner cover.
Created with a focus on understated luxury, this edition of the Stan Smith silhouette gives it the prestige its status deserves as tens of millions of pairs of the Stan Smith have been sold worldwide (at one point it was listed in the Guinness World Records) since it was first released as the “adidas Stan Smith” back in 1971. (From 1965, the shoe was named the “adidas Robert Haillet” after the French tennis player Robert Haillet. And from 1973 to 1978, the shoe had Stan Smith’s portrait on the tongue, but the word “Haillet” written above it.)
