We’re over halfway through Baselworld 2018, the largest and most luxurious watch trade show of the year. Baselworld is where all of the world’s top watchmakers debut their most highly-anticipated watches. Yesterday afternoon, I brought you bros a recap of some of the best new watches from Baselworld 2018 so far but the new Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic watch is so badass I wanted to dedicate a full article to this timepiece.
The Octo Finissimo Automatic Tourbillon is thinner than three stacked dimes and measures only 3.95mm thick which makes it the thinnest automatic tourbillon watch ever built. Bulgari has been breaking record ever since it introduced the first Octo Finissimo back in 2014 which became the thinnest Tourbillon watch ever built. That first model was 5mm thick.
Bulgari broke another record again in 2016 when they introduced the thinnest hand-wound minute repeater watch ever built. With this latest model, we get to see a watch so thin that horologists never believed it was possible and the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic watch is an amalgamation of those two record-breaking watches.

The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic Watch features a 42mm brushed titanium case that measures only 3.95mm thick. It has a 52-hour power reserve and the skeletonized caliber measures only 1.95mm thick. This watch has a sapphire opening that’s shaped to mimic Bulgari’s flagship store in Rome and only 50 of these watches will be made so it will be a collector’s dream. If any collectors are lucky enough to get their hands on one of these Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic watches it will retail for a cool $126,000+ (120,000 Swiss Francs).
