Finally, some good COVID news.

The US government announced on Wednesday that it had reached a deal with Pfizer and BioNTech to buy 100M doses of its jointly developed COVID vaccine for $1.95B… if it’s found to be safe and effective. It’s always the fine print, isn’t it?

Pfizer and Germany’s BioNTech have been working at breakneck speed on four different vaccines to prevent the onset of the upper respiratory disease that’s crippled the globe. Now, it’s just a matter of which of their four vaccines they can get approved first.

If things go well, Donnie Deals and the US can get its hands on another 500M doses. And what’s even better? It will be free to all Americans at no cost. Yes, even anti-vaxxers.

So, how far along is it?

It’s getting there. Be patient. The companies said that, barring regulatory body interference, a large scale trial of the vaccine could kick off later this month.

Shares of Pfizer closed the day closed up 1.8%, after an early 3.8% jump on the news. BioNTech closed up a whopping 12.57%.

The bottom line…

The race is heating up as we head towards the ‘rona boi vaccine finish line. Moderna is also scheduling a Phase 3, large scale human trial. That trial, is also set to begin at the end of July, despite side effects in patients. Enjoy your erection lasting longer than 4-hours…

The Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine, if a jointly released report by the two drugmakers is to be believed, showed more positive results. After getting that initial shot, test subjects showed antibody and T cell immune responses. For those of you that didn’t go to medical school, that’s good.

Let’s not forget that the US government has already made some promises, promising Novovax $1.6B for 100M doses, if they can get them by January. What, no extra for express shipping?

💧 “If my math is correct, with 600M doses of the vaccine, we can each have a little extra. Immunity, here we come.” (AJ, The Water Coolest HQ)
