Here’s How Much The World’s 10 Wealthiest Billionaires Are Currently Worth
Every couple months I like to take stock of how poor I am by looking at Bloomberg’s up-to-date list of billionaire wealth. Just when I think I have my own personal finances and investments in a good spot, I like to head over to Bloomberg for a dose of reality. And that reality is: I ain’t worth much more than a bucket of pig shit. Or various other brands of livestock feces. Take your pick. Doesn’t matter. Fact remains, is that compared to the 500 wealthiest people in the world, my net worth (and yours too) is very depressing.
Just for reference — before we look at the top 10 wealthiest people in the world and their massive year-to-date net worth increase — the person coming in at #500 on the wealthiest list still has a net worth of over $4 billion. And Mark Cuban, one of the most outspoken billionaires on the planet, doesn’t even crack the top 500. Nor does the 45th U.S. President, Donald J. Trump. They are only worth $3.3 billion and $3.1 billion respectively. SAD!
While the top of the list remains mostly unchanged from year to year, 2o17 did bring us a new top dog and that is Amazon’s Jeff Bezos. His net worth increased a whopping $34.7 billion this year and it was enough for him to pass Bill Gates and Warren Buffet to take the crown as the Richest Person in the World. Good for him.
Suffice it to say that 2017 was quite the year for anyone who had money invested (wisely) in the market or other places, but as always, no one had a better year than rich people.
