No One Had A More Accurate Prediction For The New ‘Stars Wars’ Movie Than ‘The Simpsons’ (Which They Made In 2009)

The Simpsons

Much has been made about The Simpsons innate ability to predict the future.

From Donald Trump’s candidacy to the St. Louis Cardinals hacking scandal to a cadre of others, it seems like the cartoon’s writers have a Nostradamus-like prescience.

Add to that impressive list this screenshot from 2009 outside a hypothetical movie studio. The new Star Wars trilogy had yet to be announced then, but they not only predicted that a new one would come out, but that it would literally be a mea culpa for the George Lucas prequels (which J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens was).

That would be enough, except they accurately nailed just what movie would open alongside it.

That’s right, Bella Thorne’s Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The Simpsons

The Simpsons really did do it.
