Cris Carter Apologizes On ‘Monday Night Countdown’ For Telling NFL Rookies To Get A ‘Fall Guy’

Yesterday, a video surfaced of NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter advising NFL rookies to have a “fall guy” to cover up their crimes. After much criticism from the media and the Internet, Carter addressed the video and apologized live on air during Monday Night Countdown.

I can’t make an excuse for what my mindset was, my heart was in the right place. I didn’t use words that I was proud of. It’s not the type of advice that I would offer young people. I would never tell young people to break the law, to avoid prosecution. it was bad advice.

Carter did say that after the ordeal he still wanted to work with the NFL and rookies in the future but after this we’re not sure that’s the best idea.
