NBA legend Michael Jordan will be an analyst for NBC when it begins broadcasting games again next season. NBC last broadcast the NBA in 2002.

Given that Michael Jordan is not just the most iconic player in NBA history but also one of the iconic figures in the entire world of sports, landing him for their NBA coverage is obviously a coup for NBC.

Last year, the NBA signed an 11-year deal to broadcast NBA and WNBA regular-season and playoff games, bringing the league back to the network for the first time in over 20 years. The NBA also signed new broadcasting deals with ABC/ESPN and Amazon Prime Video.

The return of NBA on NBC will begin with the 2025/26 season this October.

“I am so excited to see the NBA back on NBC. The NBA on NBC was a meaningful part of my career, and I’m excited about being a special contributor to the project. I’m looking forward to seeing you all when the NBA on NBC launches this October,” Jordan said in a statement on Monday.

Given his legendary status and his infamous penchant for gambling, the reactions to the news about MJ joining NBC have been as expected.

Over the course of his legendary NBA career, Michael Jordan won six NBA titles, six NBA Finals MVP awards, and 10 scoring title, and was named to 14 All-Star games.
