Donald Trump Was Almost The Craziest Baseball Player Ever, Not Just The Craziest Person

While Donald Trump has shown that he’s piss-poor at doing “The Wave,” apparently, he actually has some business being in a baseball stadium—and it’s because he was a pretty damn good player back in his day.

The Presidential hopeful—who has spewed at the mouth and on Twitter to entertain us all during his time as a candidate—was, allegedly, so good at the sport that he was even being scouted by the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox back in high school, per a CSN Philly report.

If that’s the truth, Trump could’ve been running his mouth on the baseball diamond more than he has during his entire career as a real estate mogul and hopeful politician.

In fact, if you ask the man himself, he once had this to say about his playing career, via MTV in 2010:

“I was captain of the baseball team. I was supposed to be a professional baseball player. Fortunately, I decided to go into real estate instead. I played first base and I also played catcher. I was a good hitter. I just had a good time.”

Impressive stuff from The Donald, with my favorite part of that entire quote coming when he said he was “supposed to be a professional baseball player.” Really? Who decided that, dude?

Regardless, two MLB teams did scout him during high school—which is more than I can claim—meaning Trump could’ve been the most hated player the sport had ever seen, no doubt, making A-Rod look like a choirboy.
