Kevin Durant Congratulated Russell Westbrook On Winning NBA MVP On YouTube Page

Back in February, following a tense game between the Warriors and the Thunder in OKC, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook ate dinner at a fancy OKC restaurant. 15 feet apart. Without saying one word to each other.

This was just one anecdote that perfectly sums up a tumultuous 2016 for the two superstars. At the end of the year, Kevin Durant was validated in his move, as he was awarded an NBA title and Finals MVP. Westbrook’s Thunder was easily bounced out of the first round by the flawed Rockets. Durant’s success had to irk Westbrook, evident in him watching Sister Act while Durant ripped through the Cave in the Finals.

But, Westbrook received some much deserved validation of his own when the NBA finally fucking awarded this year’s MVP award during its first annual NBA awards Monday night in New York.

Durant let bygones be bygones and congratulated his former teammate this morning in a post on his official YouTube page:

Huge congrats to Russell Westbrook on MVP, that boy went out there and was a created player on 2k all year, (expletive) balled out. Gotta respect it!

Durant also gave props to former teammate James Harden for a monster season:

Shoutout my boy James Harden. For 5 years now he’s taken his game to the next level, he will be an MVP one day, he’s an MVP now, he’s made so many people proud. I know this first hand, recognize what he has done for the game!

Friends again?!
