Badass Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Mackenzie Dern Could Be The Next Big Thing In Women’s MMA

by 1 year ago

While Ronda Rousey farts around and will, in my humble opinion, probably never see the inside of an Octagon again, it’s time to look for a new female fighting hero.

I’m of the mind that Rousey has gone full Gina Carano at this point and is planning on making her money fake fighting people in Hollywood for good. Not that I blame her for such a decision, it just sucks for us.

So who should we take on as our new favorite female fighter? I did think it was going to be Paige VanZant. Then she and her undefeated UFC record got POUNDED to a bloody pulp by Rose Namajunas at Fight Night 80 and since then the last time we saw her she was on Dancing With The Stars.

Which leads us to my selection for the next female MMA fighter I shall be keeping an eye on and her name is Mackenzie Dern.

Why Mackenzie Dern? Well, for one there is this guy you may have heard of, if you’re an MMA fan, named Benson Henderson who said this about her…

“She will be bigger than Ronda Rousey before Ronda Rousey lost,” Henderson said on The MMA Hour. “She’s going to be huge. She’s going to be big. She has an excellent work ethic.

“Go look her up, she is a multiple-time jiu-jitsu world champion. She’s won ADCC. She’s won Abu Dhabi. She’s won Worlds. She’s the current No. 1 ranked female jiu-jitsu practitioner on the planet. She has an amazing work ethic. She’s an amazing athlete. She definitely needs to work on her MMA skills, but her ground game is phenomenal. Any woman on the planet goes to the ground with Mackenzie and Mackenzie is going to tap her, or dominate her like she did her first opponent.”

That’s pretty high praise from a former UFC and WEC Lightweight Champion.

Want even more proof that she’s a total badass? Check out this link, but not before you peep some of her pics and a video below.
