On Friday night, Colin Kaepernick started a firestorm after he chose to protest the national anthem before the Niners-Packers preseason game.
I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color,” against Green Bay. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
Before last night’s Giants-Jets preseason game, New York Giants players and their staff appeared to make a point to line up and stand for the National Anthem.
Pretty deliberate sideline for the Giants during the anthem tonight. All players and staff standing. pic.twitter.com/5iqUJp4eqQ

Here’s a side by side comparison of the Giants and Niners sidelines during the national anthem.
It will be interesting to see if any other player will take a stand with Kaepernick and sit out the anthem in the next few days.
