The Yankees Are Cursed And Donald Trump’s Presidency Might Explain Why They Lost To The Astros

The Yankees quest for a 28th World Series title came to an end last week when the Bronx Bombers lost to the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS. Was it Justin Verlander’s heroics in Game 6 that completely shut down the Yankees, or was it a total offensive wet fart in Game 7 that bounced them from the 2017 MLB Playoffs? Neither. The New York Yankees are cursed.

It was 1958 the last time the NY Yankees won a World Series with a Republican President in the Oval Office (Dwight Eisenhower). Since then, the Yankees have only won their World Series titles with a Democrat holding our nation’s highest position. And I know what you’re thinking ‘Cass, this is not a curse, this is just some bullshit’ but let me explain.

According to Business Insider, the Bronx Bombers’ Republican curse is tied to George Steinbrenner pleading guilty to providing illegal campaign contributions to disgraced Republican President Richard Nixon’s reelection campaign in 1972. Business Insider says this is the official starting point of the Yankees-Republican President curse.

Since Steinbrenner pleaded guilty and was banned from baseball operations for 15 months the Yankees have appeared in 13 World Series. They are 9-0 when there’s a Democrat in the White House, and the Yankees are 0-4 in the World Series with a Republican holding the Oval Office.
