You don’t need to be an avid basketball fan to know who Zion Williamson is. The recent Duke commit and number 2 player in the class of 2018 has 1.1 million Instagram followers, 100,000 Twitter followers, and Drake wore his jersey in an Instagram post. Roy Williams reportedly told him that he was the best player he had seen since Michael Jordan.

The 6-foot-6, 275-pound power forward has dominated South Carolina high school basketball, and it doesn’t even look fair. His cult following started due to his violent, high-flying dunks, and stuck around because he is a damn good all-around basketball player.

His team, Spartanburg Day recently faced off against Shannon Forest in the South Carolina Independent Schools Association regional final. Zion finished with a mind-blowing 42 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals and 1 block in a 98-52 trouncing.

During the game, a grown ass man decided to heckle Zion on a three point attempt. Zion drilled the triple, turned to the man, and saluted. The man, meanwhile, jumped out of his seat and started whining to the ref about t-ing him up.

A true sign of desperation.

The day before, Williamson scored his 3,000th high school point in a 82-51 victory over Spartanburg Christian. He scored 37 points and 5 rebounds in the game, scoring 23 points in the first half. Oh, yeah he also did a 360 dunk in the first half.

Check out the highlights of Zion playing against LaMelo Ball when LaMelo was a high school student rather than playing in a Lithuanian recreational league.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
