Couple Orders Storage Bins On Amazon Shocked When Almost 70 Pounds Of Weed Shows Up

A couple from Orlando ordered a set of storage bins on Amazon. This gets more interesting, I promise. They were surprised when those storage bins showed up on their doorstep and weighed 65 pounds. You’d think that a couple of empty storage bins from Amazon would weigh less than 10-pounds with the packaging, but these weren’t empty. The Orlando couple found 65-pounds of sticky icky marijuana wrapped up inside of their Amazon order.

The couple asked to remain nameless while being interviewed by WFTV out of fear of retaliation from potential drug dealers. The couple told WFTV they ‘didn’t sleep for a few days’ thinking their house was going to be burglarized by someone looking for the marijuana.

The couple turned the drugs into police and contacted Amazon about their order. They claim they were never able to get in touch with a supervisor at Amazon to clarify what in the heck happened. Instead, after a period of silence, they received an email from Amazon with a $150 gift card and a message saying ‘I am unable to do anything else at this time.’.

I’ve never ordered anything on Amazon and had a different product show up. Less than a handful of times my order has either been late or didn’t show up at all, and Amazon’s customer service refunded me and sent me another product. They’re the best. So I’m shocked that even though there was a police investigation involved here all they came back with was a non-explanation and $150 gift card. I’d expect them to shell out at least 5-years worth of Amazon Prime service and some minor explanation that they were at least working with the police and couldn’t comment on the situation.

I’m not entirely sure what I’d do in this situation if I were that couple. I recall this story from 2015 where a fisherman found 26 kilos of cocaine and instead of turning it in he tried to sell it on the streets but ended up selling cocaine to undercover police. Doing something like that will wind you up in prison for life. This happened in Florida where marijuana is still very illegal. If this happened in California, Colorado, or Oregon where cannabis is legalized recreationally, do you call the police to turn in the 65-pounds of weed or would this be the same as Amazon accidentally mailing you some storage bins with alcohol wrapped up inside? I think, in that instance, you either keep it or force Amazon to come pick it up, right?
