The road to sobriety was a long one for former child actor and Might Ducks star Shaun Weiss who suffers from the disease of addiction.

Shaun Weiss recently celebrated three years of sobriety in January 2023 and officially graduated from drug court at the time, an important milestone on the path to his new normal.

Weiss appeared to hit rock bottom in July 2017 when he was sentenced to 150 days in L.A. County Jail for petty theft, his second arrest for that offense. He would only serve 12 days of that sentence due to jail overcrowding in LA but that moment would set him on the eventual path to sobriety with bumps in the road along the way.

His physical transformation after 1 year of sobriety was remarkable. In April 2022, Shaun Weiss opened up about overcoming addiction for the first time during a podcast with Friends of Jerry.

Now, Shaun Weiss is on stage again doing stand-up and joking about his infamous mugshot and addiction struggles. TMZ shared exclusive footage of Weiss on stage at the Mic Drop Comedy Club in San Diego:

Someone posted a YouTube Shorts clip of the Shaun Weiss standup footage as well, if that video above isn’t loading for you.

Weiss definitely looked grateful to be back on stage in front of an appreciative audience:

Here’s to hoping things are only onward and upward after three great years of sobriety for the former Heavy Weights and Mighty Ducks actor.
