Academy Award-nominated actor Adam Driver took a sly shot at Lena Dunham during his Cannes Film Festival press conference for his new film Paper Tiger. Some reviews have hailed Driver’s performance in the James Gray-helmed film as the best of his acclaimed career.

At the Cannes Film Festival this weekend — where Adam Driver is promoting his new film Paper Tiger, which premiered at the renowned film festival — a reporter asked about Lena Dunham’s new memoir Famesick, in which she describes him as  being verbally aggressive and physically intense during the filming of the HBO series Girls. Dunham also alleged incidents of chair-throwing and screaming on set.

Adam Driver responded to Lena Dunham’s claims about him in her new book by saying he’ll elaborate further whenever he publishes his own memoir

While Driver did issue a “no comment,” he also tossed in a cheeky shot at Dunham by saying he’ll speak more on her allegations whenever he publishes his own memoir.

“I have no comment on any of that and I’m saving it all for my book,” Driver quipped, prompting laughs from the crowd.

Paper Tiger, directed by Ad Astra and We Own The Night filmmaker James Gray and co-starring Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller, premiered in competition at Cannes on May 16 to a seven-minute standing ovation and has been nominated for the Palme d’Or. The film has been acquired by Neon for distribution in the United States, although a release date has not been confirmed.

Set in 1986 Queens, New York, the crime thriller follows two brothers whose get-rich scheme lands them in the crosshairs of the Russian mob and has been hailed by some critics as the best work of both Gray’s and Driver’s careers.
