A man called “America’s Nostradamus” has made three pretty scary predictions about what he thinks will happen by 2028.
John Hogue, an author who has spent more than forty years studying the prophecies of Nostradamus, believes that the world is moving toward nuclear war, a devastating twenty-seven-year global conflict, and the collapse of the United States as a superpower.
So, you know, nothing too serious. (Funny how these guys never have positive predictions for the future, isn’t it?)
Hogue, who has written several books about the 16th-century French astrologer, bases his predictions on his interpretations of Nostradamus’ writings, astrology, and current world events.
‘America’s Nostradamus’ Predicts Nuclear War And The Collapse Of The United States
The Sun reports that John Hogue believes President Donald Trump could launch a nuclear attack against Iran’s underground nuclear facilities.
“It is a new pattern of danger I’ve been warning about for a long time now,” he said. “When all stockpiles of Western – and particularly American – conventional weapons are exhausted, that will leave only bountiful tactical and then strategic intercontinental nuclear weapon stocks left to fight wars with.”
Should this happen, Hogue says it could cause a massive backlash throughout the Middle East and result in thousands of American military members being killed.
In addition to that bit of great news, “America’s Nostradamus” also believes the United States may lose its status as a world superpower by September 11, 2028. He believes this would happen due to rising fuel costs, inflation, national debt and political unrest.

This prediction is based on something called the Shofar Silence, which, according to The Sun, is a 24-month astrological cycle that begins in September 2026 and ends in September 2028.
John Hogue also predicts there could be a global war that will last 27 years, “eventually destroying all oil, helium and natural gas industries across Western Asia.”
Metro also reports that Hogue believes a mysterious figure mentioned in Nostradamus’ writings, called “Mabus,” could be Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He predicts the Saudi leader could be assassinated, murdered during a coup or die in a plane crash, causing a conflict which would leave the Middle East in disarray. The war could destroy energy facilities and cause a global shortage of food, water and fuel.
‘China’s Nostradamus’ Has Some Equally Troubling Predictions
Interestingly, as is always the case each year, John Hogue isn’t the only modern-day Nostradamus predicting some pretty terrible things for America.
A Chinese-Canadian educator named Jiang Xueqin, better known as “China’s Nostradamus,” has made five predictions for 2027 that also aren’t very encouraging.
Jiang gained attention after correctly predicting Donald Trump would win the 2024 presidential election and warning that the United States would become involved in a war with Iran.
Now Jiang believes that by 2027, America could see the return of the draft, the expansion of ICE and National Guard operations and a global economic collapse. Jiang also predicts civil unrest that could resemble a second American Civil War.
Unlike John Hogue, however, Jiang Xueqin bases his forecasts on historical patterns, game theory and geopolitical analysis instead of interpretations of ancient prophecies.
Of course, that doesn’t mean his predictions are guaranteed to happen either. In fact, no scientific evidence shows that Hogue or anyone else can predict the future.
