Over the last few years, it’s difficult to think of an actress that’s had such a massive career explosion quite like Ana de Armas.

Since 2019, de Armas has starred — and stolen scenes — in films such as Knives Out, No Time To Die, The Gray Man, and Blonde, the latter of which, although highly controversial, earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. She was also cast to lead the upcoming John Wick spinoff franchise Ballerina.

As a result of her meteoric rise to Hollywood’s A-list, de Armas will be serving as host of the iconic sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live this weekend alongside musical guest Karol G.

In preparation for her hosting duties, de Armas has been sharing some behind-the-scenes photos and mini-skits to prep fans for Saturday night.

In addition to Ballerina, which recently wrapped production and will hit theaters in the Summer of 2024, de Armas also has the AppleTV+ film Ghosted in the pipeline, which will hit the streaming service on Friday, April 21.

An action-comedy in the vein of True Lies, de Armas co-stars in the project — which was written by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and directed by Rocketman filmmaker Dexter Fletcher — alongside Chris Evans.

In addition to the aforementioned projects, de Armas is known for her work in films such as Wars Dogs, Hands of Stone, Knock Knock, Blade Runner 2049, and Deep Water.

Famously, de Armas couldn’t speak English when she landed her part alongside Miles Teller and Jonah Hill and War Dogs and simply performed her lines by memorizing how they sounded, even admitting she “wasn’t really sure what she was saying” at times.
