Jennifer Lawrence has to be quite an intimidating person. Not only is she a drop-dead-gorgeous, Academy Award-winning actress, but she’s famously a tornado of personality that’s capable of steamrolling anyone and every one with its pure energy.

Thus, you can imagine how anxiety-inducing it must have been to tell her “let’s f***” upon meeting her, which is exactly what No Hard Feelings star Andrew Barth Feldman had to go through when auditioning for the film.

“One of the last things I did was a chemistry read with her,” Feldman said during a recent interview with Vanity Fair. “It was down to me and two other guys. And I was like, ‘I’m going to have to look Jennifer Lawrence in the eyes today and say let’s f***.’ That’s something that I have to do.”

Despite not even officially hitting theaters (as of this writing), No Hard Feelings has already been responsible for tons of headlines, particularly thanks to a scene that features a birthday suit-wearing Lawrence throwing down on a beach in a fight that’s being compared to the one from Viggo Mortensen’s Eastern Promises.

In addition to Lawrence and Feldman, No Hard Feelings — directed by Good Boys filmmaker Gene Stupnitsky — stars Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, and Matthew Broderick.

The film, Lawrence’s third in the last 18ish months following Neflix’s Don’t Look Up and AppleTV+’s Causeway, hits theaters in the United States on Friday, June 23. Check out both the trailer and the official synopsis for the R-rated comedy below:

Maddie Barker (Lawrence) thinks she’s found the answer to her financial troubles when she discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, and bring him out of his shell before he leaves for college. But awkward Percy proves to be more of a challenge than she expected, and time is running out. She has one summer to make him a man or lose it all.

Currently, Lawrence is attached to five feature films that are in various stages of production, such as East of Eden, Mob Girl, Burial Rites, Sue, and Die, My Love.
