UPDATE: Bam Margera is out of the hospital and celebrating his release!
It has been a very tumultuous year for former Jackass star Bam Margera. As a public figure who built his fame and fortune in Reality TV putting his body through brutal stunts, his fans have publicly witnessed his struggle with substance abuse in ways that are rarely seen.
The latest report about Bam Margera is troubling. TMZ ‘has learned’ that Bam is in the ICU in a hospital in San Diego and has been put on a ventilator. They are reporting the reason that Margera is on a ventilator is because he is currently battling both pneumonia and has tested positive for covid-19.
TMZ reports:
“Bam Margera is in a hospital battling a very serious case of pneumonia, complicated by COVID-19 … TMZ has learned.
Sources close to the situation tell us Bam was hospitalized in San Diego earlier this week. He then tested positive for Covid while in the hospital … and since then we’re told doctors decided to put him on a ventilator. He’s being treated in ICU, but his condition is stable.”
The definition of ‘stable condition’ typically means ‘unlikely to deteriorate soon’ but it can be used in several ways depending on who is saying it.
Bam Margera went missing from court-mandated rehabilitation facilities twice in a month earlier this year. A month or two later, Steve-O published a long interview he did with Bam Margera. Bam was very open and honest about his struggles with alcoholism and his desire to get clean and sober.
