Bradley Cooper’s intense love for the Philadelphia Eagles is far from an act or a bit, as evidenced by the actor and director’s recent revealing comments on The Howard Stern Show.

Making a recent appearance to promote his upcoming Netflix film Maestro, Stern presented the 48-year-old A-lister for a “Sophie’s Choice”: win Best Director and Best Actor, and Carey Mulligan win Best Actress, at the Academy Awards for their work on Maestro, or have the Philadelphia Eagles win a Super Bowl.

Virtually without hesitation, Cooper chose to see the Birds lift the Lombardi Trophy.

What makes Cooper’s response even more surprising is the fact that he got to see the Philadelphia Eagles win a Super Bowl just five years ago and play in one *this year*.

It’s not like they’re the New York Jets or the Detroit Lions and are synonymous with decades of misfortune and lack of Super Bowls — the Eagles have been one of the best teams in the NFC since the turn of the century.

In addition to Cooper and Mulligan, Maestro — which boasts the legendary likes of Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese as two of its producers — also stars Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, and Sarah Silverman.

Following its limited theatrical release, which began on November 22, Maestro will be released on Netflix on Wednesday, December 20. The film, which is Cooper’s first directorial effort since 2018’s A Star Is Born, is expected to be a major contender at next year’s Academy Awards, regardless of whether or not the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl, in categories such as Best Actor, Actress, Director, Picture, and more.

Following awards season, Cooper will likely begin production of Steven Spielberg’s Bullitt and his next directorial feature Is This Thing On?, which he’ll also star in alongside his longtime pal Will Arnett.
