New footage shows Britney Spears allegedly failing a sobriety test during her DUI arrest on March 4, while audio from multiple 911 calls describes her as driving “erratically.”
“I’m reporting an erratic driving person. They are driving a BMW,” one 911 caller told authorities, adding that Britney Spears was swerving “in and out of lanes” and “slamming on the brakes.” They also reported Spears “almost sideswiped a couple of vehicles” and was “driving at high speeds.”
“I’m worried they’re going to crash with somebody,” the caller feared, according to the audio obtained by Page Six.
Another 911 call to the California Highway Patrol reported, “Possible drunk driver. It is a black BMW. They’re randomly breaking in and out of the lanes. Almost sideswiped three or four vehicles. I am loosely trailing them.”
Britney Spears’ DUI arrest captured on police dashcam video
Newly released police dashcam footage from Britney’s arrest shows police questioning her after stopping her. At one point in the video, Spears asks police if they have her phone, which they say is still in her purse.
According to the police report, officers said they smelled the “distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage” on the singer’s breath. Spears allegedly acknowledged consuming one mimosa a few hours prior to her arrest, and added, “I could probably take care of you while sipping four bottles of wine. “I am an angel.”
She also reportedly informed the cop that she had taken Lamictal, Prozac, and Adderall that day. An officer “located a brown purse that contained a bottle of pills labeled ‘Adderall,’ which were not prescribed to Spears,” the report read. It also stated that an officer “observed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver seat and the passenger seat.”
It was also noted that the pop star’s “mood changed from confrontational and agitated to flamboyant and compliant” and “also appeared to speak with a British accent at times.”
Earlier this month, Britney reached a plea agreement with the prosecution, reducing the DUI charge to “wet reckless” – a reckless driving offense involving alcohol.
The court placed Spears on 12 months probation, required her to complete a three-month alcohol school totaling 30 hours, and prohibited her from possessing drugs without a legitimate prescription. She checked herself into rehab in April.
