Fans of anthropomorphic cats from the planet Thundera who battle a mummified Egyptian-like sorcerer on Third Earth rejoice because a new ThunderCats TV series is coming! SNARF! Cartoon Network is creating ThunderCats Roar, a completely different TV show from the original that aired from 1985 and 1989, but some people hate the revamped look that will put a good deal of the story into being funny.

However, not everyone embraced the new comical version of cat people from an alien world and voiced their displeasure on the internet because that’s what you do.

There were some people who supported the new ThunderCats and point to how awesome the 2011 reboot was that was canceled after one season because of poor ratings.
For those upset over Thundercats right now: there was a visually stunning, heartfelt, story driven, action oriented reboot of Thundercats in 2011 that exceeded all expectations and showed a passionate respect to the source material. Nobody watched it and it was cancelled. pic.twitter.com/KuSfOAr9gu

2011 Thundercats was met with similar backlash upon announcement for looking too anime, and riding on the visual trends made popular by Avatar and Teen Titans. Truth is, a good show is a good show. Trends help good shows get sold. Good people work on shows like these. Trust them pic.twitter.com/4SqVEsozBk

The official synopsis of ThunderCats Roar:
“Staying true to the premise of the original series, Lion-O and the ThunderCats — Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, Wilykat, and Wilykit — barely escape the sudden destruction of their home world, Thundera, only to crash land on the mysterious and exotic planet of Third Earth. Lion-O, the newly appointed Lord of the ThunderCats, attempts to lead the team as they make this planet their new home. A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, including the evil Mumm-Ra, Third Earth’s wicked ruler who will let nothing, including the ThunderCats, stop his tyrannical reign over the planet.”
Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit, WilyKat, and of course Snarf will return when ThunderCats Roar will debut on Cartoon Network in 2019.
