College Student Gives Professor Unflattering Nickname, She Accidentally Submits Paper With Cringeworthy Mistake

Giving unflattering nicknames to people is fun. You call your hairy friend “Chewbacca” or your friend with an overactive colon is properly nicknamed “Turd Ferguson.” However, when those uncomplimentary names accidentally slip out to the person that you’re harmlessly joking around about it is not fun. That was the case this week when a college student gave a belittling nickname to her professor and accidentally submitted a paper with the derogatory name.

Twitter user @Zoeyoxley made a cringeworthy mistake, but was a good sport about it and shared her regrettable blunder on the internet so we can all delight or wince at her awkward situation. In a tweet captioned “a series of unfortunate events,” the college student wasn’t sure of her professor’s name so she used a charming placeholder name of “Professor Whats His Nuts” on her paper. However, she forgot to change the nickname to the professor’s actual name and submitted it through her school’s electronic submission system.

Zoe wrote a very sincere email to Professor Whats His Nuts apologizing for calling him “Professor Whats His Nuts.” “I could not remember your name so I wrote something completely unprofessional,” Zoe wrote in the email to Professor Whats His Nuts. “I hope that this does not reflect what you think of me and that the next assignment I can address by the correct name.”

The tweet quickly went viral, amassing over 87,000 Retweets and more than 366,000 Likes. Even Professor Whats His Nuts saw the tweet. Professor Whats His Nuts, err, Professor John Hendel, responded on Twitter

The internet reveled in Zoe’s innocent, but hilarious mistake.

Sorry teach, but you will forever be known as Professor Whats His Nuts.
